THE SOLO PROJECT OF A FORMER MEMBER OF DEERHUNTER

Controversial multi-instrumentalist Colin Mee has played previously in heavily criticized bands such as Chopper, The Spooks and Deerhunter, showing a remarkable ability to create friction despite a not-uncompromising approach to music. Common ground yields fertile soil and thus Hollow Stars was born, giving form to ideas the public at large is still years away from having nightmares about. Having been described by the fictional music blog Patchwork as “punchy and poignant pop profundity(not for pinkos)”, this new project breathes new life into the one-guy-masquerading-as-a-band genre. Sadly future endeavors will involve actual backing (and fronting) musicians, marking this debut 7 inch record as the “band’s penultimate statement”. Says Mee, “Music doesn’t cause people enjoyment. I do.”
